I’m a chronic coffee drinker but was always tired. I had heard all the health benefits of matcha but was skeptical if it was going to be the right move for me but figured I would give it a shot anyway. I am a “go big or go home” kind of gal, so the kit was obviously the way to go! (Plus, I love supporting a small business, too!)

That first sip of matcha tea was….earthy. I’m not typically a sweet coffee drinker but the matcha juxtaposition was a real 180° change for me. I reached out to the Tanuki team for tips and tricks to make the transition to matcha easier and they were so helpful in recipe ideas! Now I can’t go more than a couple days without having a matcha or hōjicha latte.

As this being my first bought ceremonial matcha, I was not disappointed! It's very umami, with no bitter notes that I could taste. I also feel like alone it kinda has a slight sweetness to it. Even with sweetener added, I feel this matcha powder holds it's flavor very well. I'm already sold on buying another can after I run out because it is THAT good. The owner of this brand (Kanako) is also Japanese, and is very informative about matcha, how to make it, etc. Through social media posts she does, you can truly tell she learns and does her research on matcha and japanese teas, and helps educate us more throughout the matcha community!! Hehe. Highly recommend supporting this women and japanese owned matcha company :)

I bought this kit just because it popped up on my FYP on TikTok, and let me tell you.. it was worth every penny! I gambled getting this matcha brand as they were just starting out and I'm honestly glad I did because everything in this kit is so cute and worth it! Kanako also included a tote in my order just because. She's so sweet! :') The matcha is sooo green and the hojicha is a beautiful brown. The colors of the tea powders are so vibrant. As for taste wise.. omg. The matcha is SO UMAMIIII!! So flavorful. Very rich. The matcha alone honestly wasn't giving any bitter notes either :) and it also holds it's matcha taste when it's sweetened in latte form. The hojicha has the perfect amount of nuttiness! It honestly reminded me of chocolate milk when I made it into a latte lol! It was so so good. The whisk is holding up pretty well for the amount of times I've used it so far, and the spoon it comes with is perfect to scoop out your powders with! This kit is also priced fairly I feel in comparison to other matcha brands I've come across, even for just starting their matcha brand out. Idk if this kit will be just a limited edition item, but definitely get your hands on it now. You won't be disappointed! :)

Once I opened the matcha powder, I was amazed by its vibrant green color and rich aroma. The taste was a perfect balance of earthy and rich.

I've never tried hojicha before but their social media made me tack it onto my matcha order. I don't think I've ever had tea like this but goodness gracious, it's delicious! It truly tastes like it's been toasted in the oven. The maple syrup advice is expert advice, of course, coming from the founder who is a Japanese Tea expert! When I try to be low-calorie, I add splenda and it tastes great. I found a new favorite tea I can drink at night! Will reorder this along with the matcha!

I was a little skeptical since it's a new player in the already big matcha field, but as soon as I saw that the founder is Japanese, a woman, and a Japanese Tea Practitioner, I hit the purchase button. No regrets whatsoever - in fact, I almost want to gate-keep before they sell out!

The matcha is so smooth, naturally a little sweet, not bitter at all. I have never had matcha on it's own before (always a latte form) but now I find myself being satisfied with having it the way it is, sometimes with sugar, sometimes not. This must be what authentic, high quality matcha tastes like?!

This is hands down my favoirte matcha I've ever tried. The texture is SO smooth and creamy, it's perfect on its own or in a latte. On top of tasting amazing it's just really beautiful - it's such a pretty shade of green. Perfect to replace my morning coffee or an afternoon treat.

Wowowow! What a delight! From the moment I opened the package, I could tell it was high quality—the vibrant, rich green color and fresh, earthy aroma are exactly what you want in to see in your matcha. It froths beautifully with the whisk and has a smooth texture with a slightly sweet finish. No bitterness or graininess here! Just pure, amazing flavor.

My favorite way to drink it is with some milk and a little bit of maple syrup (thank you Tanuki for sharing your secrets!) I love to drink this as a mid-day pick-me-up as I find it doesn't make me jittery at all (and I can still sleep at night, vs. having a coffee at 3 pm!)

This matcha is so delicious. I was a casual matcha drinker before, but didn't know much about how to choose quality product and thought I wouldn't know the difference. Well let me tell you, trying super high quality matcha like Tanuki was a game-changer. It is SO smooth, and has a natural sweetness and nuttiness that is beyond delicious. It's so user friendly too - I got the kit so I have all the tools, but it also turns out perfectly well making it in a blender bottle when I'm in a hurry. As long as you use the right proportions, it's kind of foolproof. Worth every penny.

I’m a Starbucks iced matcha latte drinker and this was so much cleaner and more delicious! I’ve now had it hot and iced and either way is super tasty! This will definitely be my go-to for my afternoon pick me up!
