I have tried multiple hojichas. Some just do not have that specific taste and texture I enjoy. This one however has an equal balance of roasted and umami taste. 4 grams of this makes a perfect cup!!
This has definitely become one of my favorite hōjicha powders! It mixes in really well, no clumps at all. A little goes a long way, and it's flavorful. I usually make lattes with it ( with oatmilk) but I’m really excited to try it in hojicha brownies and muffins. And like a previous review mentioned no plastic packaging, which is really important to me. Strongly recommend!
I've never tried hojicha before but their social media made me tack it onto my matcha order. I don't think I've ever had tea like this but goodness gracious, it's delicious! It truly tastes like it's been toasted in the oven. The maple syrup advice is expert advice, of course, coming from the founder who is a Japanese Tea expert! When I try to be low-calorie, I add splenda and it tastes great. I found a new favorite tea I can drink at night! Will reorder this along with the matcha!
Ran here to say that this tea is a favorite! It's roasty in flavor and has much less caffeine than coffee. I love it prepared the traditional way with hot water. My husband loves it made into an iced latte with oat milk and maple syrup. We've already restocked and would love a subscription option! In the meantime, I'll have to label my tin so my husband doesn't drink it all. Bonus: the tin means no plastic!
